"It is quite simply the reason I am here," says Sweeny. What he did was record architectural elements of places  that others might not even notice. After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design with a B.F.A. in Photography,  Sweeny moved frequently to picturesque spots along the East Coast like Providence and Block Island, RI,  Lawrence and Boston, MA and Highlands, NC, and Charleston, SC.
Once settled in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, he continued to draw in pencil, keeping masterful records of the many places that caught his eye during his travels. He recently relocated to Obidos, Portugal where he passed away on April 27, 2020.

Now cracks a noble heart. Good-night, sweet prince; and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
